Our Mission
Fits.ovh exists to solve a real problem in the construction, plumbing, and manufacturing trades: the gap between what materials are called and what they actually measure.
A "2x4" isn't 2" × 4". A "1/2" pipe doesn't fit in a "1/2" hole. A "3/4" piece of plywood measures 23/32". These discrepancies aren't mistakes—they're the result of decades of industry standards, manufacturing processes, and physical laws. But they cost time, money, and cause frustration on every job site.
We built this tool for contractors, plumbers, carpenters, blacksmiths, apprentices, and anyone who needs accurate dimensions instantly, without guessing or second-guessing themselves.
Data Accuracy & Sources
All dimension data on Fits.ovh is sourced from industry-standard references:
- Lumber: ASTM D245 (Standard Practice for Establishing Wood Properties for Structural Design) and National Lumber Grades Authority (NLGA) standards
- Plumbing: ASTM B88 (Seamless Copper Tube) and ASTM D2241 (Poly(Vinyl Chloride) (PVC) Plastic Pipe Schedules 40, 80, and 120)
- Sheet Goods: US Plywood Association standards and APA (The Engineered Wood Association) specifications
- Steel: ASTM A36 and A500 standards for structural steel bar stock
